Six Weeks...

Image
I can hardly believe that in six weeks and six days, I will be married! I've waited so long for this time to come, that at times I think I will wake up and it will just have been a dream and my life will go back to the way it was. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He hears and answers prayers. I love Larry White with all that I am and I know that I am loved in return. Larry's sister is the one on earth that brought us together, because she listened to the Holy Ghost - "This is gonna sound weird," she says to me one night in January 2011, "but every time I see you, I think of my brother." Yes, Heidi, that sounded weird! I'm so glad you followed that prompting to talk to me. I had no other reason to stay at the church building as long as I did that night. I love you and your wonderful family! Thank you!

Memory Lane

Image
Before I came out to stay with my mom and help her pack up to move to CA, I convinced her to take me on a trip down MY Memory Lane... When I was 4 years old, we moved from Jacksonville, FL, to Denver, CO. The house I lived in was yellow and had brown trim... But, unless we hadn't known the address, we'd have gone right past it because it had been painted GREEN! UGH! The tree that was very small in the beginning, and had outgrown me by the time we moved to Oklahoma in 1987, has grown to enormous proportions! The neighbor's house has been built up and added to, as was the school I attended Kindergarten through the first part of 4th grade. After Oklahoma (my 4th grade year was spent in OK), we moved in with my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin in Longmont, CO. We lived in three different houses there during my 5th and 6th grade years. I was the one that remembered how to get from my schools to the houses today, which actually felt odd to me. I don't remember much of my childhood

Check it Out

My other blog is for photography, so I thought I'd share the link... Special Moments Photography (this link goes to the Easter Portraits)

Fun giveaway

While browsing my many blogs I follow, I came across this post from First Grade Best. I absolutely LOVE Eric Carle books, so I hope not only to add another entry to the giveaway for myself, but to give you a chance to win as well! Such a cute bag!

Bunny Baskets

Image
So, I just finished the second Easter basket this afternoon... I found this idea at The Idea Room and KNEW I needed to make one for my niece and nephew! Here they are!  The stuffing out of poor bunny's belly!  The fabric basket pieces in the tummy.  Ready to put the bias tape around the edge! The finished bunny basket for my nephew! My niece's bunny basket... Both bunnies together. Now, I must say here, that I had planned for the bigger bunny to be for my niece and smaller for my nephew, but when the bunnies came home, the kids attached themselves to the opposite! Kids are so funny sometimes! The gingham ears do work nicer for my niece, though, so it's okay!

More Crafts to Share

Image
I thought I'd share two more crafts I've done this year... These were both done in February.  This is the blanket I spoke of in my previous post. I just love the owls that are out right now! I only paid half price for both front and back (plain red), so I scored! This cute little lady was made from felt, and filled with pellet bead things... I had downloaded a game from one of many blogs I follow and this was just a picture on the paper and I knew I had to make one! She's only about four inches tall from the tip of the ear to the tips of her feet! She was also the inspiration for one of the painted pockets on my luggage in the previous post.

Crafting

Image
So, I’m really bad at this whole blogging stuff from my life, but am super addicted to following other people’s blogs for crafting and teaching ideas! I thought I’d share a few of the things I’ve made using ideas from some of those blogs. First up, though I can’t for the life of me find the blog post I used for inspiration, I decided to paint my luggage with some things that most definitely represent me! In her post, the lady painted her husband's luggage around each side with a simple design, so he could easily identify his luggage as it came down the airport luggage conveyor. Genius! Makes me want to travel (of course, I am next month, but not in an airplane!)... This is the top. I stenciled a unicorn and dragon, but the stencils were made of lightweight cardboard, so I didn't love it... I like the outcome, though, so that's what's important, right?? These are the two big pockets on one side. My name is done in stencils, and the dragon I fre
