Crafting

So, I’m really bad at this whole blogging stuff from my life, but am super addicted to following other people’s blogs for crafting and teaching ideas! I thought I’d share a few of the things I’ve made using ideas from some of those blogs.

First up, though I can’t for the life of me find the blog post I used for inspiration, I decided to paint my luggage with some things that most definitely represent me! In her post, the lady painted her husband's luggage around each side with a simple design, so he could easily identify his luggage as it came down the airport luggage conveyor. Genius! Makes me want to travel (of course, I am next month, but not in an airplane!)...

This is the top. I stenciled a unicorn and dragon, but the stencils were made of lightweight cardboard, so I didn't love it... I like the outcome, though, so that's what's important, right??

These are the two big pockets on one side. My name is done in stencils, and the dragon I free-handed from a picture from the DJ Inkers Clip Art, "Fairy Dust". LOVE!! My new little watermark is from the same set of clip art, and just added my "name"...

These are on the opposite side. I'm recently loving the little owls everywhere, even having made a blanket with some fuzzy material from Joann's! I'm also a huge Donkey Kong fan, so I just copied him from a picture on my computer. "March of the Minis" is a very cute game!

I'm a bit of a smart-alec, so this is written on the bottom of my luggage!

The way this luggage works, it will stand on this "end" if you need it to! This side and the bottom are just sharpie markers, but the rest are acrylic paints.

Now, the next two shirts: I found the idea from Family Fun's website last summer, where they used leaves and other natural materials and bleached around it... I thought it would be more fun to find clip art for a red shirt around the 4th of July, and made a shirt for both me and for my niece. Then, for Valentine's Day this year, I made matching shirts with little paper hearts for all the ladies in the house, and for my mother. HUGE hit! Very cute!

For this last shirt, I saw the Pig from "Angry Birds" at Hot Topic on a shirt, took a picture of it, then painted it myself on a green shirt! Fantastic! Lots of fun! That, dear friends, is the end!
