Journeys Unexpected

I should be doing homework, as there are still two weeks left in the Spring 2015 semester, but I have lost my motivation. My hubby went to see a neurologist last week and we were told he is in need of being on a gluten-free, dairy-free (casein-free) diet. Sooo, I'm doing some research into that. I will be on it as well, because I am diabetic and really shouldn't be eating most of what I do to begin with. It will be a slow change, while we use up what we have in the freezer, cupboards, etc. and make the change gradually. I hope this will help us both to truly embrace the new lifestyle. I'm reading a book recommended by the neurologist, titled "Grain Brain". You can check it out on Amazon here . It's been quite interesting to learn how gluten affects the brain, not just the gut. Many ailments have been cured by going gluten-free: ADHD, diabetes, depression, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and more. I recommend it. Anyway, I'm struggling in one class this semest...

Well, I managed to survive the move to Idaho, my first Christmas away from family, and my first semester of Graduate school, coming out with a 3.75 GPA! I'm very pleased! Our decision to move to Idaho has been the greatest blessing in our lives to this point. We have a three bedroom apartment that costs less than our tiny one back in California. The dogs have room to play. The dogs also like the attention they get from the little kids around the complex. It is nice to see so many kids playing outside! They even get along most of the time. 😜 Anyway, I'm out of school for the summer and am enjoying doing crafts for the time being. Here is my very first quilt top, using squares! I love the owls, and mom Northrup taught me it is fun to make patterns... This could become an expensive hobby! EDITED: This young lady no longer accepts me as a mom, or even a friend. :( For those of you that are close to me, you probably already know that Larry and I are unable to have kids. I've wanted children from the time I was young. I wanted six kids! As time moved on and I wasn't married, but was helping other people with their own children, I thought I could handle four. No more than that. ;) I turned 25 and still no hubby, and decided that maybe three kids was all I could handle. By the time 30 came around, my max number of kids I wanted was 2! Make it twins, and I'll be good to go! I realize now that one child is all I really want, and I don't want an infant. I don't have the patience for a baby anymore, and I'm okay with that. It's been ages since I've posted anything about my life... Let's see: July 2012 saw me making peg dolls for the reunion that my hubby and I went to. We bought our Ford Thunderbird (not a wise choice, but one that we've lived with since then). We rode with my sister-in-law, 4 kids, and our two dogs up to Idaho for the reunion. All in all we did well, but we were very glad to get home. I got to meet the in-laws and am so very happy to be part of this wonderful family! August 2012 - On the 18th, Larry and I spent half the day in the county hospital because of nausea and back pain the day before: by 1am that morning I was throwing up. I had a nasty kidney infection and needed a diagnosis with a doctor on follow-up for diabetes. I made Heidi's girls each a crocheted blanket for Christmas. Dad Northrup had a quadruple bypass. September 2012 - sigh. The T-Bird's power steering pump went out this month, after Larry replaced brakes and other things in August. Oc...

I can hardly believe that in six weeks and six days, I will be married! I've waited so long for this time to come, that at times I think I will wake up and it will just have been a dream and my life will go back to the way it was. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He hears and answers prayers. I love Larry White with all that I am and I know that I am loved in return. Larry's sister is the one on earth that brought us together, because she listened to the Holy Ghost - "This is gonna sound weird," she says to me one night in January 2011, "but every time I see you, I think of my brother." Yes, Heidi, that sounded weird! I'm so glad you followed that prompting to talk to me. I had no other reason to stay at the church building as long as I did that night. I love you and your wonderful family! Thank you!
