Friday

Today is Friday the 13th! I've never found that the "horror" of the day is ever bad, I think that Monday the 13ths are worse (I hate Mondays!!). I babysat my beautiful neice today so her parents could enjoy a lunch together, which turned into a SpongeBob Squarepants episode!

Anyway, my computer is almost ready for me to start playing on! I'm so excited! I will have a picture of it some day soon - it's a purple/silver tower, with a quadcore processor, and other cool things. I'm almost as excited for that to be done as I am my car... Poor Ginny, her head gasket blew and I've only recently been able to scrape the money together for my brother to buy the parts. *Sigh* Hopefully it's only the gasket, and not more...

The job front is still bad - I'm on the sub-list for HUSD, and it's only given me half a day for this pay period. *More sighs* I'm sure that something will happen soon, I just need to show forth my faith in the Lord, and trust in His time.

Originally published on 11/25/2018 As some of you old hats to my blog may remember, I began working for VIPKID back in April 2018. That didn't really pan out for me so I had to find something else. Back in August, I started looking for something in sales. I came across a post on ZipRecruiter about insurance sales and applied. Little did I know that first interview would begin a new journey for traveling! Larry and I were able to go to North Carolina earlier this month for a Leaders' Summit. I learned all sorts of good stuff about becoming a leader for my own team. I look forward to implementing that information very soon. We also decided that, since we were there, we would make the most of the trip... Boy, did we ever! The first thing you should know is that we thought we could check into our motel any time of the day. We took a red eye flight from Salt Lake City, UT over to Charlotte, NC, had a rental car waiting for us, and drove two hours or so back to Asheville...

So Many Blogs to Write, So Little Time!

Originally published on 05/09/2018 I have been slacking in my blogging duties... I do apologize! I will say however it is because of my job as a special needs preschool teacher. The end of the year is always super busy for me with multiple evaluations to be done, IEPs to write, etc. June 1st is in my sights though, so I can spend some time catching up on all the blogs I need to write about! :) I also have been getting myself ready for a career change. WHAT?! Yes, that's right. I'm no longer going to be a special needs preschool teacher after June 1st. I am going to work for VIPKID. Ever heard of them? I'm really excited to start this new Journey because I can stay home with my family, as well as travel! Wood Badge - Part 4

Originally published on 02/13/2018 On Day 3 of my Wood Badge Experience, the Bobwhite Patrol was in charge of the flag ceremony. This was a neat experience since I've never been involved in a flag ceremony before. The historical flag that we had to showcase was The Star Spangled Banner, which included 15 stars and 15 stripes. To learn more about this flag, please follow  this link . After all three flags were on their respective poles, we sang our country's National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner". One of the things we had to do today was set up a tent. They made it into a competition, and we were not the first ones done, but members of other Patrols came and helped everyone out as the finished their own tents. The is the basic Boy Scouts of America tent, from what I understand. It is also identical to what I slept in for the week. I am grateful that on day 2 I asked for a cot to sleep on, because the ground was just littered with tree roots... Not the most...
