Ode to My KitchenAid

I've been cooking and baking for most of my life. My aunt told me I was cooking chicken dinners when I was only four years old! I love cooking and baking from scratch. When Larry and I got together, he taught me how to make bread by hand, which I had really only done one other time in my life. Pies, cookies, brownies, bread, pasta, you name it, I love making it!
My mom knows I love to bake and make my own foods as much as possible, so she gave me her Hamilton Beach stand mixer before we left California. It was a good mixer, but really small. I sometimes had a hard time making a full batch of cookies because of that. Both my sister-in-law and mother-in-law have a KitchenAid Professional Stand Mixer... I was rather jealous because of all the cool stuff it could do! Some people don't know, I know I didn't until they showed me, that the KitchenAid Stand Mixers are able to use different attachments! There are soooooo many to choose from! I told Larry back in 2015 that I needed very much desired to have my very own KitchenAid Stand Mixer.
I started doing research. I compared models. I read many, many reviews of the various types of KitchenAid stand mixers. I looked at color options (because, hey, if you're going to buy one, you might as well showcase it, right?!). I finally decided on a purple KitchenAid Professional 600 Series because purple is my favorite color, and the Professional is better capable of handling the attachments than the Artisan series.
Larry bought it for me for Christmas in 2015. I was so excited! It was the best gift that year! One of the reasons I love my mixer is because it is heavy duty, capable of mixing bread dough in it's entirety. I can also make a double batch of cookies if I want and the bowl can handle the amount of ingredients without problems. I also have a cover for it that someone made, with two outside pockets to hold my mixing blade and recipe book. Larry also bought me several accessories, some that year for Christmas, and others as time has gone on.
The KitchenAid Spiralizer is one of the coolest gadgets I have for the mixer. Have you ever had Zoodles? That's zucchini noodles, if you weren't aware. You attach the parts you need, such as spirals of small, medium, or large, and it also peels the skins and slices if you wish. I got rid of my apple-peeler-corer-slicer because I have this to do that automatically now. I probably should have kept that though, because my preschoolers could help do that by hand if I still had it so we could slice apples... Oh well. Live and learn, right?!
The KitchenAid Juicer is a fantastic little attachment! That was the first attachment I had ever seen, and we used it at my sister-in-law's home. We breezed through a ton of oranges in no time! I really love having fresh squeezed juice because it's got much better flavor. Eventually I'd like to have some fruit trees in our backyard, including an orange tree and a lemonade tree. Did you know there was such a thing as a lemonade tree? The lemons are huge and have sweet juice. There is no need to add a mountain of sugar because they are sweet straight off the tree! Yum!
The last attachment I have, well, I guess it's not an attachment, it's an accessory, is the KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker! Man, oh man! The first kind of ice cream we made was using coconut milk because we were trying out a Vegan diet (didn't love it, glad we're not doing that any longer). This ice cream maker is fast, and it makes a perfect soft serve right out of the bowl, which is what Larry and I both love! The only bad part is waiting the four hours for your ice cream base to get cold! There's no rock salt, no other things you need, just the bowl and it's mixer attachment and makes delicious homemade ice cream. Have I mentioned I love homemade food? ;)
There are many more attachments that I want, and here's a list with links to each.
Anyway, do you have a stand mixer? If so, what kind? Do you have a KitchenAid? Any attachments? Let me know in the comments below!

KitchenAid Meat Grinder with Sausage Stuffer This is made from aluminum alloy that also has the sausage stuffer parts. I like that I could make bratwurst, sausage links, etc. from our own meats.
