Ninja Pro Blender Review

I bought a blender in 2015 because I wanted to make green smoothies. I had researched a variety of blenders, scouring through YouTube videos to see them in action, even finding some that compared models. I finally decided on the Nutri Ninja Pro 900 watt blender. This little machine is mighty powerful! I needed something that made sure there were no chunky bits in a smoothie, because that's just gross. :) I had made a smoothie once with a typical blender... Let's just say I didn't want anything to do with smoothies at that time!

So I bought the blender, and it came with only one small blender cup, 16oz. I then purchased a set of two 24oz blender cups because I wanted more space to add a greater amount of fruits and veggies. I think my very first green smoothie was spinach and an apple. It was a lovely green color and I wasn't too sure about it... It actually tasted like I was drinking an apple! I didn't taste anything funky, there were no chunks of apple or spinach, and it was easily swallowed. I have made some weird concoctions since then, that didn't go so well... I tried making a "savory" one once, and managed to not keep that down! Yuck! I'll stick to "sweet" smoothies, thank you very much!

I took a long break from drinking smoothies, but now I'm back at it. I need to take better care of my health, and this is one great way to add those fruits and veggies that so many of us don't get... I typically gather my almond milk, sometimes yogurt, and spinach to put in the blender first. This ensures that I actually get those greens in!

After that, I add my fruits and some ground flax seed. Makes an ordinary smoothie into a powerhouse of nutrients! Today, I chose the Walmart brand of frozen fruit salad. That's another good talking point: make sure you either put in ice cubes or use frozen fruit to get your smoothie the right consistency. I typically fill mine a little too full, but as long as that lid can stay on tight, we're good to go!

Make sure that the pokey-out parts on the blender cup fit into the corresponding holes of the blender base, lock it into place and press down. I usually pulse it a few times to make sure there is enough liquid. I start with about 1 cup of almond mild, but sometimes that isn't quite enough and I have to open up the cup and add more liquid. Don't want to burn out the motor! Once it's totally blended, take it off the base and exchange the blender lid for a travel lid, add a straw if you desire, and you're good to go!

That's me, ready to drink my way to better health! :)
