Fun in Jackson Hole!

Larry and I went to Jackson Hole, WY at the end of March 2018. It was so much fun! I needed to get away from life for a little while, and Jackson Hole was the ticket. It was only a couple of hours away from where we live, so it made for a nice day trip. At some point, we will definitely need to make a few days of it, because there was so much to see and do! The first thing I had to do was see the four Antler Arches in the town square. Each of these arches, has 2,000 sets of antlers and are wrapped in Christmas lights year-round. At night, they light those antlers up. I've only seen pictures of them as such, so the next time we go, that's one thing I want to see.

After taking our Antler Selfie we decided to start wandering the streets and window shopping. There are so many fun shops to see and look through! Eventually we need to bring Larry's boots in to have them resoled and get a pair for me while we're at it. I love looking through little shops, finding treasures, and making memories. There was this one little store that had tons of trinkets to look through, toys and stuffed animals, and great little gifts for people. If I'd have had an unlimited su[ply of money, Christmas gifts would have been purchased then! So fun!

Also throughout the streets, many artists have placed sculptures of animals and famous people. Some of my favorites are shown.

Larry and I even wandered through some of the side streets where many stores were currently closed, but found this awesome stuffed bear.

I just love this guy!

The last place in the town of Jackson Hole we found, was a portrait studio, Judge Roy Bean's Old Time Photos. We had the dogs with us, and they allowed the dogs to be in the photo as well. The last time Larry and I had done an old time photo was at one of the County Fairs in California in 2012, so it was high time to do it again. This is one of my favorite things to do! The two ladies that helped us did a fantastic job of getting the dogs to look at the camera, and even managed to get a shot that they cropped the dogs only... well, of course we had to get that one, too! Here are the shots we purchased.

The dogs looked so cute, we just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a photo of just the two of them.
After wandering through town, we decided to take a little more time to drive out to the Elk Refuge. We drove past it, but didn't see any elk out and about, so we kept driving, and found ourselves in Moose, WY at the Grand Teton Visitor's Center. Lots of neat sculptures and artifact displays are there, giving a fun way to learn a little history. This is how I like to learn, seeing the actual items people used, life-sized depictions of things that went on... Books can be so dull when learning historical facts. Some day, I hope Larry and I can travel this country and learn things hands-on. Here are some of my favorite photos from the Visitor's Center.

I never realized how big a black bear's paw was until I took this photo! Crazy! So that was our fun day trip over to Jackson Hole. Like I said, I need to make a longer trip over for us at some point so we can do star gazing, dancing, eating, and general all-around fun. Let me know in the comments below, what you would do in Jackson Hole!
