A Ginny Update

So, I spoke with my brother, who is my grease monkey, and he hasn't looked at the car, since they are moving soon. Once settled, he will be able to take the head gasket off and find out if there's a crack in the head or the engine - he didn't want to take it apart only to sit there open... So, there's still a chance she's not as far gone as I was lead to believe. Not sure if that's good or not, since I don't have a job and don't have much money for the registration and continual insurance... Blah, blah, blah!

Anyway, I had a fantastic day at Church today! I renewed my Recommend, got to see that a good friend is through with Probation and can partake of the Sacrament again, and got to talk with our Elder's Quorum President for a while. Relief Society's lesson was super, as they usually are since I've got a superb staff! Just an all-around good day!

Our Enrichment night is this Tuesday and I'm excited for that. I've made a PowerPoint Slideshow from the pictures we've been gathering for two months (good grief, has it been that long?!?) and the sisters will have to guess who the ladies are from two younger pix, then be given the answers with an "older" photo of each lady. It is in celebration of the RS Birthday, and should be loads of fun!

Back in August, I started looking for something in sales. I came across a post on ZipRecruiter about insurance sales and applied. Little did I know that first interview would begin a new journey for traveling! Larry and I were able to go to North Carolina earlier this month for a Leaders' Summit. I learned all sorts of good stuff about becoming a leader for my own team. I look forward to implementing that information very soon. We also decided that, since we were there, we would make the most of the trip... Boy, did we ever! The first thing you should know is that we thought we could check into our motel any time of the day. We took a red eye flight from Salt Lake City, UT over to Charlotte, NC, had a rental car waiting for us, and drove two hours or so back to Asheville...

So Many Blogs to Write, So Little Time!

Originally published on 05/09/2018 I have been slacking in my blogging duties... I do apologize! I will say however it is because of my job as a special needs preschool teacher. The end of the year is always super busy for me with multiple evaluations to be done, IEPs to write, etc. June 1st is in my sights though, so I can spend some time catching up on all the blogs I need to write about! :) I also have been getting myself ready for a career change. WHAT?! Yes, that's right. I'm no longer going to be a special needs preschool teacher after June 1st. I am going to work for VIPKID. Ever heard of them? I'm really excited to start this new Journey because I can stay home with my family, as well as travel! Wood Badge - Part 4

Originally published on 02/13/2018 On Day 3 of my Wood Badge Experience, the Bobwhite Patrol was in charge of the flag ceremony. This was a neat experience since I've never been involved in a flag ceremony before. The historical flag that we had to showcase was The Star Spangled Banner, which included 15 stars and 15 stripes. To learn more about this flag, please follow  this link . After all three flags were on their respective poles, we sang our country's National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner". One of the things we had to do today was set up a tent. They made it into a competition, and we were not the first ones done, but members of other Patrols came and helped everyone out as the finished their own tents. The is the basic Boy Scouts of America tent, from what I understand. It is also identical to what I slept in for the week. I am grateful that on day 2 I asked for a cot to sleep on, because the ground was just littered with tree roots... Not the most...
